ASF is unique in many ways. To start with, here is a Foundation that is looking at the future of a sportsperson in totality and pragmatically, and is thus combining top grade academics with sporting excellence to ensure a secure future for them even beyond sports.

Accolades galore showered on Karumbaiah's Academy of Learning and Sports as the participants displayed exceptional skills on field and had the maximum number of participants representing the Karnataka Zone at the 13th ASISC National Sports Meet held in NS NIS West Region, Gandhinagar ,Ahmedabad conducted by SDA Public School from Nov 8th to 10th.

Mst. Sharan Doopad struck gold in shotput and discus under -16 boys category, while Nidhi C.N.- the youngest participant representing Karnataka, clinched gold in discus and Navya Shetty laid her hands on silver in discus under-16 girls category.

A team of ten KALian represented the Karnataka Zone and all the participants struck superb sporting potent on field and excelled within the top five position and is phenomenal in Karnataka clinching the third place among the nine zones present. The bustling training of the coaches Mr. Ravi Shankar and Mr. Chetan baring rain and shine has helped in the results of KALian sports index going up.

This event is yet another milestone in the sporting arena of the Institution.

DOING IT DIFFERENTLY At a time when the world is looking at sports as a lucrative career option, Indians are still skeptical about opting for sports as a full time profession. Even if some have adopted sports seriously at an early age, academics have had to suffer.

In view of the fact that in India:

• Schools lack world class sports facilities required to build champions, and
• Sports Training Centers, do not include academics, ASF is ready with a venture that integrates the best of both worlds!

ASF will provide the required sports facilities to give the impetus to develop the next generation of Indian sporting champions with a holistic view to personal development where individual athlete needs are met rather than a "one size fits all" approach.

CHOSEN FIELDS The ASF program will initially revolve around the following sporting disciplines:
Athletics . Hockey . Tennis . Badminton . Cricket . Swimming . Golf
Special attention will be provided to hone individual skills, rather than involving all players in a general practice. So, each has room to emerge a winner.

ASF will follow a four pronged strategy:

1. Identifying Talent: We will consistently identify best in class talent at two levels.
   1. Talent that exists but needs to be shaped. This will be done through talent hunt programs across the country.
   2. Fresh talent through the KALS, which is a unique school on the same campus as ASF and inculcates sporting excellence right from a very young age.
2. Professional management: ASF will be run like any well managed for-profit corporate organization. Headed by a CEO, ASF will follow corporate best practices adapted to the management of sports. Specialized trainers will be hired across the disciplines and each discipline will be managed as a business unit.
3. Best practices: ASF will adopt best practices from around the world across the various sporting disciplines. Trainers will be trained by international trainers, where needed and get exposure to best practices across the globe.
4. World class exposure: World class temperament comes with exposure to global sports competitions and training. ASF will endeavour to tie-up with other state-of-the-art training facilities to provide exposure to athletes and trainers as well as compete in international events. ASF will also become a destination for national and international events across the disciplines.
